That was very simple, wasn’t it? Well now, let’s check out a third-party app that lets you merge duplicate contacts. Choose whichever one you prefer and your duplicate contacts will be merged into one. Just like the Contacts app on Android, you’ll see options to merge them individually or merge them all. Now, in the left sidebar, look for an option named ‘ Duplicates‘ and click it to see all the duplicate contacts you have.ģ.
DELETE DUPLICATE CONTACTS GOOGLE ANDROID ANDROID
We currently have Blackberrys, Iphones and a WP7 which are all fine, it's just our android device suffering from this issue (this particular user previously owned a blackberry). For this article, we are going to use three different ways you can use to find and remove duplicate contacts on Android device.

I've double checked and there is only one instance of each contact on his PC, so I'm a little confused as to why Andriod thinks he needs multiple copies of the same contacts. He has three accounts syncing to the device (exchange, hotmail and google), but his exchange one is the only one that is syncing contacts. I deleted his exchange account from the device and re-added and now there's 3 of each contact. I then deleted all the contacts on the phone and re-imported them to exchange but his contacts refused to sync. His device then deleted 1 of each contact, leaving 11 of each. I backed up all his contacts on outlook and then deleted them.

It's connected to our exchange using active sync and has been working fine for a few weeks, but yesterday when the user showed me his device there was 12 of each of his contacts on it, all identical to each other and displaying independently, instead of linking them into one. Yesterday, our only Android device (Galaxy S3) started multiplying contacts.
